Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I use EZ Books? A: EZ Books is a convenient hassle free way to shop for your textbooks. By using the EZ Books textbook service you will save money, by being the first to shop for used titles, and time, by having your books pre-boxed for you.
Q: What do I need when ordering my textbooks online? A: You will be asked your Name, SDSU Red ID and PIN. If you need help remembering your SDSU RedID or PIN, or if you need to create a new one visit www.sdsu.edu/redid
Q: Do I need my class schedule? A: No, the EZ Books online system will automatically retrieve your class schedule information and display all the required and optional textbooks for each of your classes.
Q: When I order my textbooks using EZ Books can I only choose used books?
A: The default in the ordering process is for used books so you will not need to do anything if this is your preference. Every effort will be made to fill your order with as many used books as possible. In some cases, however, used books will not be available for a particular title and, in those instances, we will fill your order with a new copy of that title.
Q: When I order my textbooks using EZ Books can I only choose new books? A: You may choose to change the default preference from used books to new books. However, in some cases, new books may not be available and we may fill your order with Used Books.
Q: Once I make my order can I make a change to it online? A: Once your order has been processed you may make changes when you pick up your books.
Q: Do I pay for my order online? A: You will be asked for a credit card number when you order online to reserve your textbooks, but your credit card will not be charged. You pay for your books when you come to pick them up.
Q: Can the bookstore charge the credit card I give online to pay for my books? A: The bookstore will not be able to charge the credit card number given online to reserve the order. The same credit card may be used to pay for the books, but the card must be presented at the time of purchase.
Q: What happens if I miss my scheduled pick up time? A: There is no penalty if you do not pick up your books during your scheduled pick up time. A restocking fee will be charged to the credit card given online if your books are not picked up by the end of the pick up period (Usually the first day of classes).
Q: What do I need to bring with me to pick up my books? A: You will receive a confirmation page to print after completing your order to present at the time of pick up.
Q: What are acceptable forms of payment for my EZ Books order? A: The SDSU Bookstore accepts cash, checks and all major credit cards (except American Express). If you are paying by a check written by a person not present at the time of payment, their phone number will be needed to verify the check’s validity.
